Shell and Marnie Walk again for Breast Cancer!

I will be walking again this year in my 4th Walk for breast cancer, the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer 3Day! This year it has a special meaning though, I will be walking with and for my friend Marnie who will just have finished chemotherapy at the time of the Walk. We will be walking 60 miles together and raising more than $2300 a piece. Yes, I'm doing it again - I signed up for the 2011 Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure! I had such an incredible experience working for and participating in the 3-Day Walks in the past that I'm going back for more. I'm so excited about this event, even though this year I really know what I've gotten myself into (and it's been several years since I walked 60 miles, we'll see how I do!).

I need your help. I am planning on surpassing the $3000 that you - my friends and family - gave so generously last time around to help end breast cancer.

Also, this year the Walk has a special meaning for me. I'm walking with and for my lovely friend Marnie who became a breast cancer survivor herself this year. Marnie and I met while working at the 3-Day Walks providing support for the wonderful participants over the years and walking in two of the events ourselves in honor of Marnie's mom Sue, an amazing and super strong lady who eventually lost her battle to this disease a few years ago. So now, the story is different. Marnie is going through treatment right now and will just be ending chemotherapy at the time of the event. Our team name, Team Terrible Pain, was originally a joke since on two of the Walks we both had terrible blisters and yet kept on going. This year there will be a different kind of pain involved. Please help me support Marnie and women like her who are either fighting this disease or will some day find out they have it. Please pledge. I'll do the walking, I'll continue to spread the word, but I need your help.
